# Payment methods

> Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, PayPal, Klarna, iDEAL, SEPA Direct Debit, Pix, and the other ways customers can pay at Kelviq checkout

Kelviq checkout accepts cards, wallets, bank payments, buy now pay later, and local payment methods from around the world. You don't need to turn anything on or sign up with each provider. Kelviq is the merchant of record, so we handle the payment provider agreements, currency conversion, and payouts to you.

## Which methods a customer sees

Checkout shows the methods that fit each purchase, based on:

* **The customer's country.** A buyer in the Netherlands sees iDEAL, a buyer in India sees UPI, a buyer in Brazil sees Pix.
* **The checkout currency.** Most local methods only work in their own currency. UPI needs INR, Pix needs BRL, iDEAL needs EUR. Set local prices with [location-based pricing](/product-catalog/location-based-pricing) so these methods can appear.
* **One-time or recurring.** Some methods can be charged again automatically for subscription renewals. Others can only be used for one-time payments, so checkout hides them for subscriptions.

Cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay work almost everywhere and for both one-time payments and subscriptions.

## UPI

UPI is the most used way to pay online in India. Customers pay from any UPI app, such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or their bank's app, by scanning a QR code.

* **Who can use it:** customers in India, when the checkout is priced in INR.
* **One-time payments:** from ₹1 up to ₹1,00,000 per payment.
* **Subscriptions:** the customer approves a UPI AutoPay mandate in their UPI app at checkout. Kelviq then charges each renewal automatically, up to ₹15,000 per charge.
* **QR codes** expire after 5 minutes.
* **Refunds** can be issued for up to 60 days after the payment and take up to 7 business days to reach the customer.

To offer UPI, give your plan an INR price with [location-based pricing](/product-catalog/location-based-pricing). Customers in India then see the INR price and UPI at checkout.
