Before you start
- Any test card takes any future expiry date and any CVC. Use 3 digits for the CVC, or 4 for American Express. Any valid postal code works.
- Never enter a real card number in the sandbox. Test mode rejects real cards.
- Checkout shows the methods that fit the customer’s country and the checkout currency. To test UPI or SEPA Direct Debit, give the plan an INR or EUR price with location-based pricing and choose the matching billing country at checkout. See Payment methods for which method needs which currency.
- Redirect methods open a test page instead of the wallet or bank. The page has Authorize test payment and Fail test payment buttons. Choose one to finish the payment.
- SEPA Direct Debit finishes in about 3 minutes in the sandbox. It takes several business days in production. See Timing in the sandbox.
The cards you need most
The rest of this page lists every other scenario.
Cards by brand
All of these succeed.Co-branded cards
Cards by country
Use these to see how checkout, tax and pricing behave for a card issued in a given country. All of them succeed. Cards from Europe and the Middle East succeed without a 3D Secure prompt.Americas

Declined payments
Checkout shows the decline to the customer and no order is created.Invalid card details
These errors come from the checkout form itself, before anything is sent to the payment provider.3D Secure authentication
These cards show a 3D Secure test dialog at checkout. Click Complete to pass authentication or Fail to fail it.Challenge screens
Each of these requires 3D Secure 2 on every payment and shows a different kind of challenge screen in the test dialog.Subscriptions and saved cards
A subscription charges the saved card again at each renewal without the customer present. These cards behave differently on the first payment and on renewals.
To run a renewal without waiting a month, use the Daily billing cycle described in Test a subscription renewal. Failed renewals follow the retry schedule in Failed subscription payments.
Fraud checks
Kelviq screens every payment for fraud. These cards exercise the CVC, postal code and address checks, and the risk score. Checks only run on fields you fill in, so enter a CVC or postal code to trigger them.Captcha challenge
Disputes
The payment succeeds, then a test dispute is opened on it. Kelviq handles disputes with the bank for you, so there is nothing to respond to. Use these to see how a disputed order looks and which webhook events it sends.Refunds
Refund a sandbox order from Orders with Refund payment. With most test cards the refund succeeds at once. These two cards make it asynchronous, the way some banks behave in production.Wallets
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Apple Pay and Google Pay have no test cards. In the sandbox, pay with a real card in your wallet: test mode recognises it, returns a test token and never charges the card. Test cards cannot be added to a wallet.- Apple Pay needs Safari on a device with a card in Apple Wallet.
- Google Pay needs a browser signed in to a Google account with at least one real card saved. Once the Google Pay sheet opens, you can also pick a card from Google’s test card suite.
Link
Link saves card details for one-click checkout. In the sandbox, create a Link account with any email address. The one-time passcode decides the outcome.
Do not store real personal data in sandbox Link accounts.
Amazon Pay, Kakao Pay and Naver Pay
Select the wallet and click Pay. The test page opens. Click Authorize test payment to succeed or Fail test payment to fail. There are no special test values. Kakao Pay and Naver Pay need a KRW price and a customer in South Korea.SEPA Direct Debit
SEPA Direct Debit is delayed: checkout completes, then the outcome arrives a few minutes later in the sandbox. Watch the order status and your webhook endpoint rather than the checkout page. Enter an IBAN from the list for the customer’s country. Every country has the same set of outcomes.Germany (DE)

UPI
Select UPI and click Pay. A QR code appears. Scan it with your phone to open a UPI test payment page, where you can Authorize or Expire the payment. There are no test UPI IDs: checkout only takes UPI by QR code. The same flow sets up the UPI AutoPay mandate for a subscription. Limits, AutoPay and refunds are on the UPI page.Timing in the sandbox
